My life was pretty sweet. I lived in New York City, the best city in world, near my family and friends. Had a budding kick ass career as a journalist, and had the best boyfriend on the freaking planet.

I mean, about the “best boyfriend on the freaking planet” part, anyway. It figures he would have some deep dark secret. It was just my luck. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised, though. I always seemed to attract the weirdos. But the dumb thing is I still care about him, even after finding out his deep dark secret. I wish I didn’t. And I wish I didn’t have to hurt him.
Because now?
Now there’s a stranger invading my senses that I can’t seem to shake. His presence is driving me insane, and I don’t think I can control myself around him much longer. He says I’m his Mate, whatever that means. But there’s just one super teeny tiny problem…
He’s my boyfriend’s mortal enemy.
Not exactly ideal.
And I hope to God I’ll be able to survive them.

I got the free and as of today's posting its still free. I'm kind of thankful for that. Cause it was very, very and I mean very short. Under 30 mins and I was done and left with wanting more. I know I will end up getting the next one no doubt but if its just as short I won't continue the series not even at .99 cause at 32 pages just isn't worth it and probably 4 or 5 pages is set up in the beginning talking about pirating and rights, then the cover and so forth. But continuing with this freebie it was good. Sarah, Ethan, and Jon. Poor Sarah is a human has no idea there are werebears and werewolves out there. Until someone saves her life while she's on the phone with her boyfriend. Next thing she knows is that her boyfriend is werewolf and has a unexplainable attarction to the man that saved her life. The wolf and bear scuffle but Sarah never sees the bear during the altercation she's still trying to wrap her mind about things that shouldn't go bump in the night. There's another character named Caroline and I immediately liked her she made me laugh. I would like to see more on her cause she can't keep her mouth shut. There wasn't really anything hot and steamy in here it was just a build up of sorts which I loved but then it just stopped and left me hanging lol that wasn't fair. Overall it was a pretty good short story I just hope the next one is a bit longer and she goes into more details between these two packs and this Rogue that's out there. And of course Sarah being a crime reporter and what she's been investigating on how it will tie into all of this.
A great shifter book,I love bears and werewolf.This one taking place in the city,New York city at that made it seem stranger.Thank you AnnTaz2001@aol.com
