Fun read, great way to pass sometime and get geared up for the new season. Another point of view is always a good thing.
The research that the author has done for this book certainly shows and he is obviously very passionate about the game. For beginners or the most avid fantasy baseball player, this book is a must-have for this year's fantasy draft!
This book was an easy read that had alot of information, both statistical and tips-wise. One chapter I liked alot was the contract year players. Interesting perspective on those players that I'll use during my draft!
Second time purchasing a Mindzak book for my baseball obsessed boyfriend. He absolutely loved it and found the tips section as well as the contract year chapter extremely helpful. So glad this guy has come out with another awesome book!
This book provides a wealth of information outside of what you'll find on the mainstream sites that all fantasy owners will use. Reading this book will give you an advantage in your league. It's a quick read, and something that I think I'll return to throughout the season.
Whether you are new to fantasy or a seasoned veteran this book has something for everyone. If you are looking to get an edge on the competition I would suggest this book. You know everyone in your league is looking at ESPN and yahoo for information. The problem is you are one of the sheep and being herded in the same direction. I have been doing fantasy sports for many years and I always like to get different opinions that are not "mainstream". This get my mind thinking in a different way and might give me an edge over those reading the same old stuff. Even if you don't agree with all of this guy's view points, he offers a lot of statistical knowledge and gets you thinking which is what is important!
After recently suffering through a bad fantasy draft, I was scrambling to find a insider book to help me figure out how to navigate the waiver wire, come up with reasonable trade offers and better understand some of the younger players out there that might be up and coming. Andrew did an amazing job of invoking both humor & overall baseball knowledge while making the process simple and fun. I really hope he comes out with another book soon and if so, I'm buying it. Not sure why I've never heard of Mr. Mindzak before but my guess is that he's written many other fantasy books under psedonyms. Perhaps even a Spanish version under Andrew Beisbol as I thiink I recall reading that one last year.
